we recently attended the ohio drum show. it was a lot of fun to show off two new ply configurations at the show. ** our first maple/ poplar / maple kit with one ply maple rings, an abalone snare drum, and matching bass drum inlay. the 2nd kit is 5 ply maple kit with 5 ply rings and bill’s newest rounder style bearing edge. we couldn’t be happier with the sound of these drums.

8 september 2010.  hi folks, welcome to our new home on the interWeb. i’m really happy with the new look and feel, many thanks to our longtime friend and web design guru, joe chavez. so much to report since i’ve posted news on here.  gladstone drum shells is now up and running. we’ve been making both straight maple and maple/poplar/maple shells with maple rings. the shells themselves have exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier to now be using them exclusively on all of our maple oriented kits. i’ll be posting news and updates on the happenings of the shell company on the gladstone shells page of this site. we are in the process of making gladstone drum shells it’s own home on the web too. one step at a time.

last month we attended portland drum fair in portland OR, hosted by one of current dealers, revival drum shop. we had a blast seeing what scott and jose have put together with revival.  they have provided portlanders with a lovely shop that shows a true love for the instrument.  we brought two drum kits to the fair,  both made with gladstone drum shells, kits numbered 5 and 6 with the new shells. check with them if your interested in purchasing one of the kits or snare drums that we’re made for the event.

next up, both bill and i are attending the ohio drum show in akron, put on by john aldridge’s not so modern drummer.  we’re bringing drum kits, snare drums, as well as raw shells, most of which will be for sale to the public.  be sure to come by and say hello if you’ll be attending, attend if you were thinking you might,  be cool. over and out.

some exciting news from this week, our friend and endorser, jordan richardson who’s been playing with the relentless 7, has once again had the opportunity of a lifetime, double drumming with mr ringo starr. i just caught the show online this morning, and what a great job everyone did. jordan and the relentless 7 have spent the week in NYC doing promo for ringo’s new album… Y Not. it is a great feeling that both of these drums kits we’re hand made in our shop for these two fantastic drummers. here’s a screen shot of the performance. ( with video below ) i do want to hand it to the folks at jimmy fallon, time and time again, it’s by far the best sounding live music on late night tv, just my 2 cents. xo jake c&c

also in regards to all of you who have been emailing asking about the levon kit photo’d below… i recently looked into when the auction is going to go down,,, still in the works as the MOF might have a few more gigs, which is great news! anyhow, we’ll keep you posted when you’ll have a chance to own the drum kit below.

a little about the kit. the sizes of the drums are 14×22, 8×13, 16×16 the kick drum is an 8 ply maple shell with 10 ply maple re enforcement rings. the rack tom is a 4 ply mahogany/ poplar/ mahogany shell with 8 ply maple re enforcement rings, and one ply hickory counter hoops. the floor tom is an 6 ply maple shell with 8 ply maple re enforcement hoops. all drums cut with c&c rounded vintage style bearing edges.
